Someone has just confirmed on the Internet (and purchased) the first crack for the iPhone 3GS … but nevertheless, I was sad about the fact.
And it is that someone-or George Hotz, according to the sources used exactly the same exploit “24kpwn” responsible for the jailbreak iPhone 2G and crack, resulting in the crack of 3GS iPhone in less than a week.
True, I had some help but this has not washed all the fact that the challenge presented by Apple has been reduced to a great disappointment. In the words of someone:
On a personal note, I am sad. Apple, it took me a week to destroy your new defenses. And let us re-use such an exploit; 24kpwn is 5 months ago. Although I guess it must have been painful to see these terminals operating on the assembly line, knowing that everyone had a vulnerability, and could not correct it.
Summing this melodrama then: the same tools and methods used in the past to jailbreak the iPhone with the original juice as necessary and sufficient to perform its magic on iPhone 3GS. Missing just a re-editing and retouching here and some ACULLICO, and we’re ready.
Apple, here we go …
